The 2009 CADC Annual Conference and Seminar
The CADC Annual Conference and Seminar returns to
sunny San Diego in 2009! We will convene at the Bahia Resort Hotel in beautiful
Mission Bay Park on March 27th and March 28th for two days of stimulating MCLE
instruction, bountiful buffets, and a celebration of CADC's 20th Anniversary
with an after-dinner cruise on Mission Bay aboard the Bahia Belle.
Our
Friday afternoon session kicks off with a 90-minute MCLE discussion with the
Appellate Project Executive Directors on topics of interest to panel attorneys.
The Friday evening program features a very special guest, California State
Senator Denise Moreno Ducheny, who will explain the Legislative budget process,
focusing on procedures and issues which most closely affect the judiciary and
court-appointed counsel.
After the presentations, reunite with CADC colleagues and make new friends while
sipping cocktails on the bayside patio, and enjoying a delicious buffet dinner
overlooking beautiful Mission Bay. We will then board the Bahia Belle for an
evening cruise across Mission Bay, while enjoying cocktails and entertainment.
[Dinner not included in conference fee; all cocktails are no-host.]
On Saturday, enjoy fabulous breakfast and luncheon buffets while earning 5
hours of MCLE general and ethics credits on current Criminal and Dependency law.
Topics include: dealing with difficult clients and their families, arguing IAC
on appeal, exposing problems of proof in gang cases, preparing effective reply
briefs, navigating the Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, and
representing minors, parents, siblings and grandparents from the perspective of
both trial and appellate lawyers.
Register for the conference either online at this website or by mail. Room
reservations at the Bahia Hotel may be made by telephone at (800) 576-4229, with
